He got a small glass with ice cubes and filled it half with bourbon - instead of whiskey - and half with fresh, spring water. Bourbon & Branch. While Bourbon was an American creation, it was still a deliciously sweet contribution to the whiskey family and Abraham lavished his pallet in it. He liked it straight or mixed with something - water, or whatever the bartender suggests. This was his only drink, excluding wine, in four or so days and it was a meager drink in comparison to some others he could have salvaged from his old stash.
